The Walking Dead (AMC Television Series)

The Walking Dead is finally back on television! After what we thought was just a quick mini-series has become so popular and developed such an impressive following that they rounded up the excellent cast and sent them out to continue their adventure. For those of you still thinking, what is the walking dead? It is the new (and I believe only) zombie television series on AMC which follows a group of survivors as they survive the lurking undead as well as survive each other. This series is known for it's fantastic drama just as much as it's known for outstanding gore and even some special effects.

The second season has been fantastic so far and here is an excerpt from wikipedia bout the continuation of the series for a third season,

“AMC renewed The Walking Dead for a third season on October 25, 2011, after the season two premiere broke cable ratings records in the 18–49 demographic, as announced by AMC president, Charlie Collier, "We are thankful for everyone’s contribution in front of and behind the camera as we continue to make The Walking Dead a unique television experience. And, we are so proud as it continues to set viewership records around the world."” That article can be found here.

The mere fact that it is breaking cable records and was signed for a 3rd season after only the very first episode is really saying something. This show has a following like none other and I hope it stays that way. People love zombies and people love good drama and this show delivers.

The Walking Dead Started as a graphic novel and comic book series in 2003, at a Comic Book convention in 2010 it received an award for the best ongoing series. Shortly thereafter, it became a hit mini series. It's popularity expanded it into a hit record breaking television series and now as of 2011 it is on it's way to becoming a mainstream video game. The team developing the game is Telltale games who are responsible for creating the Sam and Max series as well as the new line of CSI video games based off of the television series. I haven't played either of these series but I hope they have what it takes to deliver a good game. With games like Left4Dead, Dead Rising, Dead Island and RDR: Undead Nightmare to name a few they really need to put the effort in to gain a following.
